Apple cider and warming spices meld together to make the perfect pick-me-up for a brisk day.
Serves 4.

Ingredients:
- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 cinnamon sticks, plus extra for garnish
- 4 whole cloves
- 1-inch strip of orange zest (optional)
- Pinch of nutmeg
Preparation:
Place cider, 2 cinnamon sticks, cloves, zest (if using) and nutmeg into a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove whole spices and zest. Pour or ladle cider into mugs, and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. (Feel free to "recycle" the cinnamon sticks used for simmering as garnish.) Enjoy!
