Desserts

Sugar and spice -- like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla -- make desserts nice. You'll find those sweet standards here, along with less conventional herb and spice additions like lavender, basil, lemon verbena, black pepper, chiles, and saffron.

White Chocolate Sugar and Spice Frosting

I developed this Sugar and Spice Frosting in honor of the birth of my sweet little girl, who is definitely made of all things nice. Rich with white chocolate, this frosting is subtly flavored with vanilla bean, cinnamon, and crystallized ginger. White Chocolate Sugar and Spice Frosting would be great for frosting baby shower cake or cupcakes, but the flavor is also sophisticated and versatile enough for all sorts cakes and entertaining scenarios.

Chocolate Mint Syrup

Chocolate mint denotes both the flavor and the mint variety used in this recipe for homemade chocolate mint syrup. If you don't have access to chocolate mint, you can use regular mint instead.
